The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office proudly presents the Forensic Science Division’s podcast. Since true crime has become a popular gene, forensic science has gained notoriety, but often times this only provides a glimpse into the actual realities of this field. Two of our Criminalists, Bodean and Darby, have decided share with you what it’s really like to work in forensics. This week on the podcast we feature Part I of the CODIS series. In this episode we discuss what the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) is and we look at our lab’s first ever CODIS hit in our review of the 1977 abduction and murder of Lisa Marie Bonham.
